Spring teatime just got a little more lively. The ocean contains 99% of the planet’s living space, yet less than 10% of it has been explored. After getting a glimpse into this mysterious marine life through scuba diving, Kustaa Saksi made Merivuokka (Sea Anemone): his debut design with Marimekko and ode to the ocean floor’s flora and fauna. Vibrant hues of coral, turquoise and petrol capture the colorful community which settles on the seascape, while swaying lines and organic shapes mimic the movement of living reefs. This chic teapot is made of vitreous porcelain and includes a matching porcelain tea strainer.
